Singapore 70.3 Ironman Results

by Adrian Holman

This news is a few weeks old, but here it is anyway to give you a taste of what to expect on this site. Here's the results for Malaysia-based athletes in the Ironman 70.3 race held on 2 September 2007 in Singapore.

Local hero Shahrom Abdullah managed a fine 2nd place in his category, 15 minutes down on Aussie winner Mike Gee, but ahead of another Aussie, AJ Anderson, who'd got the better of the pair two weeks earlier in the Desaru Long-distance Triathlon.

Iwata Takatoshi, a familiar face on the Malaysian swim-bike-run scene, won the Mens 40-44 age category.

Wendy Wong was the first Malaysian woman home in 5:51:12.

74-year-old (that's right folks - 74!) Yee Sze Mun - multiple Kona and Langkawi finisher - finished in under 7 hours and won his category (he was the only competitor in his category!). Wow!
